Reading Backtest Results Correctly
Looking only at the percentage rate when evaluating backtest results can be misleading.
Number of Trades is Very Important
A pair may have lost 75% value, but the algorithm may have entered very few trades and protected large amounts. Loss is minimized because it didn't enter trades.
Capital Protection
Even in losing pairs, the algorithm generally enters few trades. Thus, most of your total capital is protected.
Monthly Estimated Signal Amounts
In backtest results, you can see estimated investment amounts required in 1 month. Actual values will be close but may vary depending on market conditions.
Recommendation for Bot Parameters
Set your bot min/max values by looking at the monthly estimated amounts in backtest results. Calculate how much capital you need to allocate by doing preliminary analysis.
